About Me

Photo of LindaI am a counsellor for adults, over the years I have worked in a variety of settings alongside several charities in and around Cambridgeshire, including Open Door. My experience also includes working as a Cruse Bereavement volunteer.

I started Cambridge Talking Therapy to help you find a calm, supportive environment where you can begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing without pressure or judgement.

I am warm, open and genuine. I have the strength, courage and empathy to be with you, while you explore your feelings and experiences that have shaped your life. I have experience in working with a range of clients both long and short term and can work with a range of presenting issues.

My focus is on helping you feel heard, understood, and supported as you work towards meaningful change. With time, patience, and the right guidance, it’s possible to break free from unhelpful cycles and start building a more confident, balanced way of living.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, Dip, Couns and a registered Accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means that I follow their strict ethical framework.

‘Who looks outside dreams, who looks inside wakes’
Carl Jung

I work using an Integrative humanistic person-centred approach, which draws on multiple theories that include Person Centred, Gestalt therapy and Psycho dynamic Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

My core training was in this approach which allows greater flexibility. Sometimes, a client needs this approach for a range of short and long-term issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationships, addictions, bereavement and low self-esteem. It means I will engage with a range of techniques to help you live life to your meaningful potential. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this approach as it is in all the other therapies.

I feel that it is important to recognise that people are all different and what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. I have a passion for continual learning and discovering new ideas, I engage in continuous professional development (CPD).

I feel that it’s an honour to walk alongside my clients and share their world. The well-being of our psyche will shape our experience of our life.

I am currently based in Ely, Cambridgeshire where I am be able to offer face-to-face, online and telephone counselling.
